The Elmira Sugar Kings ended a three-game weekend on a high note with a victory over the Cambridge Winterhawks.
It also took the sting out of a third period collapse, in which Elmira blew a 6-2 lead at Woolwich Memorial Centre, Sunday.
Cambridge struck for four goals in the second half of the third, tying the game with two seconds left on the clock.
Riley Sonnenburg's shootout goal stood up to be the difference in the game.
He also scored in regulation for the Kings, along with Brad Kraus, who had a pair, Brennon Pearce, Zach Salomon and Andrew Smith.
Michael Therrien (3), Ryan Johnston (2), Kody Ellis, Shane Smith, Lukas Baleshta, Pearce and A. Smith had assists for Elmira, which was out shot 56-44.
Anthony Colizza (2), John Kavanagh, Tyler Luikkonen, David Grant and Matt Amadio scored for Cambridge.
It was the second game in as many nights that went beyond regulation time for the Elmira squad.
The Sugar Kings lost 4-3 in overtime at Guelph, Saturday.
Tyson LeBlanc had forced overtime by scoring with the Elmira net empty in favour of an extra attacker at 18:54 of the third. Jarred Parent and Kraus also scored for Elmira, with assists going to Seth Horricks, Spencer MacCormack, Josh Wooley, A. Smith (2) and Baleshta.
Zach Dion's goal at 2:54 of overtime was the game winner, while Martin Kudla, Mike MacFarlane and former King Nic MacEachern also scored for Guelph.
Friday, Elmira began the trio of three games played in as many days with a 5-2 loss at Waterloo.
Sonnenburg and LeBlanc both had a goal and an assist in the loss, while Baleshta and Nick Horrigan added helpers.
Waterloo goal scorers were Ben Skinner (2), Tony Blyde, Zach Lorentz and Ryan Dilks.
Elmira travels to Stratford, Friday, then returns home for a rematch with Cambridge on Sunday at 7 p.m.
