The Elmira Sugar Kings extended their recent win streak to five games with victories over Guelph and Kitchener this past weekend.
With the wins, Elmira has moved into fifth place in the Midwestern Conference, a point ahead of Stratford.
The Sugar Kings opened the weekend with a 2-1 win at Guelph, Friday.
Tyson LeBlanc scored the game-winning goal, snapping a 1-1 tie at 10:21 of the third period.
The teams traded goals in the opening period. Michael Therrien scored for Elmira, while Mike McFarlane replied for Guelph.
The Hurricanes outshot the Sugar Kings 42-30.
Riley Sonnenburg had a pair of assists for Elmira, while Josh Woolley added a helper.
Sunday, Elmira remained undefeated at Woolwich Memorial Centre since the turn of the calendar with a 6-1 win over Kitchener.
Elmira broke open a 2-1 lead with four unanswered goals in the third period en route to victory.
Zach Salomon (2), Lukas Baleshta, Brad Kraus, Sonnenburg and Woolley scored for Elmira. Assists went to Seth Horricks, Jeff Zippel, Kody Ellis, Spencer MacCormack,Jarred Parent, Brennon Pearce and LeBlanc.
Lucas Tucciarone scored for the Dutchmen, which were outshot 46-23.
Elmira goaltender Brandon Gorecki, who made 41 saves in the win over Guelph, posted another 40-plus save effort for the victory.
