Listowel 3
Drayton 0
The Monday night tripleheader began with a spirited battle between 2nd place Drayton and 5th place Listowel.

Drayton was looking to improve on their 5-1-1 record and add one to their win column.

Unfortunately for them, Listowel wasn’t going down without a fight. Spectacular performances by Dennis Carter (a hat trick) and Tom Albrecht (a shutout) led Listowel to the 3-0 win. Assists went to Wade Beare, Nathan Morwood, Ted Albrecht, Graham Beare, and Gary Martin. With the win, Listowel jumps to 3rd place in the standings.

Floradale 6
Missionary 2
With 41 goals in seven games, the league’s best offence kept on rolling, adding another 6 goals to their total on Monday night.
Cory Martin and Dan Martin led the way with 3 points each. Tim Freeman, Willis Martin, Ryan Somerville and Rod Shantz had two each, and Brandon Jefferson, Dwayne Martin, Leon Metzger, and Ryan Martin had singles.

With the three-point effort, Dan Martin moved into a tie for the scoring lead with Ryan Martin, and following the week’s games, the top 5 scorers in the league were all from Floradale.

Matt Duff responded for Missionary, and Mike Martin recorded a goal and an assist in his NDCHL debut. Shane Stege assisted on both Missionary goals.

Bethel 3
Community 2
Community came into the late game needing a win to keep in 4th place, which comes with an “A” Division berth in the playoffs.

They looked like a team who knew this was the case, peppering Derek Wideman with 32 shots throughout the game.

Wideman stood tall for his team, and with five minutes remaining in the game, the score was somehow only 2-2, after the teams traded goals in both the first and second periods.

Community got goals from Joe Clemmer and Jeremy Culling (who also added an assist). Gerald Martin, Rick Brubacher, and Mike Martin got assists on the Community goals.

Answering for Bethel were Blake Boucher and Scott Martin, with the assists going to Don Bearinger, Brandon Shoemaker, Kyle Martin, and Matt Smith.

With just over three minutes left in the game and Sam Altwegg in the penalty box, Community was licking its collective lips, anticipating a solution to the frustrating Wideman while on the powerplay.

It was Bethel, however, who got to feast on the win as Blake Boucher potted his second of the contest while shorthanded. Assists went to Brandon Shoemaker and Tim Martin.
