Little feet but booming voices filled the Woolwich Memorial Centre last week for the annual Christmas day camp.
The 18 kids registered for the program got to splash in the pool and go skating as well as make crafts, play games and enjoy a couple of hours of winter games outside on the days it wasn’t too cold.
Tyler Cadman, coordinator for the camp, said it’s tiring for him but a good option for parents looking to keep their kids out of trouble.
“This way parents don’t have to put up with the little monsters for the week,” he said laughing. “They definitely have more energy than I do but it’s fun and I enjoy it.”
Cadman also had two other assistants helping him run the program and keeping the kids entertained.
Mackenzie Nyusa, one of the kids registered, said she was excited to go in each morning.
“My favourite part was skating every day,” she said. “And yesterday everyone got a chocolate medal. I ate part of mine already and it tasted good.”
The camp ran from Jan. 10-14 and parents could drop their kids off at 8 a.m and pick them up anywhere between 4 and 5 p.m.
For $35 a day or $140 for the week, Cadman said it was an active and beneficial option for parents to consider. Parents will once again have the option of day camp at the Memorial Centre when March Break rolls around.
